How the project came together
Challenge
I wanted to build my own portfolio site as both a personal website and a work sample. The goal was to create something professional enough for job applications, but still personal, playful, and visually memorable.

I designed and developed a custom WordPress theme with a dark, colorful interface inspired by game UI details. The site is built around a simple content structure where the homepage acts as the main hub, while projects can be managed through clear custom fields instead of relying on the default editor. I also added support for different project types, including web development projects and graphic design work.
I used OpenAI Codex in the ChatGPT desktop app as a development companion for debugging, code review, implementation support, and refining the theme structure. The design direction, content decisions, testing, and final implementation choices were my responsibility.
Result
The result is a custom portfolio theme that presents my work clearly, reflects my personality, and keeps content management simple. The project helped me learn more about WordPress theme development, structured content, responsive UI design, and building a cleaner admin experience for non-technical editors.
